Abstract

The rapid advancement of intelligent transportation technologies has significantly transformed railway safety and operational management through the integration of Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS). This study investigates the implementation of CPS-based intelligent railway transportation safety systems to enhance operational reliability, real-time monitoring, accident prevention, and decision-making efficiency in modern railway networks. The proposed framework integrates sensors, Internet of Things (IoT) devices, wireless communication technologies, cloud computing, and machine learning algorithms to establish continuous interaction between physical railway infrastructure and computational control systems. A comprehensive methodology involving data acquisition, predictive analytics, anomaly detection, and automated control mechanisms was adopted to evaluate system performance under varying operational conditions. Simulation and analytical results demonstrated substantial improvements in train collision avoidance, track fault detection, signal coordination, and emergency response management. The integrated CPS architecture achieved enhanced accuracy in fault prediction, reduced communication latency, and improved overall system resilience compared with conventional railway safety approaches. Furthermore, the intelligent monitoring framework enabled efficient resource utilization and minimized operational downtime through predictive maintenance strategies. The study concludes that CPS integration provides a scalable and reliable solution for developing next-generation intelligent railway transportation systems with improved safety, security, and operational efficiency. The findings contribute to the advancement of smart transportation infrastructure by supporting autonomous monitoring, real-time risk assessment, and adaptive control capabilities necessary for sustainable and secure railway operations in increasingly complex transportation environments.
